Don't Ignore Failing Steps

Concrete steps fail for two main reasons: poor original installation and water damage. Steps without proper reinforcement or drainage settle, crack, and eventually separate from the house. In Baltimore's winters, water trapped in cracks freeze, expands, and accelerates the deterioration until the steps become genuinely dangerous.

We demolish and replace failing steps with properly reinforced, code-compliant concrete steps built to rise-and-run dimensions that are safe and comfortable to use year after year.

What We Build

Front Entry Steps & Stoops

Properly dimensioned steps with uniform rise and run, safe tread depth, and broom-finished surfaces for traction in wet and icy conditions.

Basement Entry Steps

Below-grade steps to basement walkout entries — built with drainage provisions and proper slope to prevent water from accumulating.

Side & Rear Entry Steps

Service entry steps from driveways or side yards — practical, safe, and built to match the surrounding concrete work.

Landings

Concrete landings at entry doors providing a safe, level transition point between the steps and the entry — required by code in most jurisdictions.

Handrail Posts

Sleeve anchors and post bases are set in the fresh concrete during the pour, providing secure attachment points for handrails.

FAQs

Can you repair my existing steps instead of replacing them?

It depends on the extent of the damage. Surface spalling can sometimes be repaired, but structurally compromised or settled steps are better replaced. We'll give you an honest assessment.

Do you handle permits for step replacement?

In most cases, step replacement doesn't require a permit. We advise you during the estimate if your situation is an exception.

How long until I can use my new steps?

24 hours for light foot traffic. We advise waiting 7 days before resuming normal heavy use.

Can you match the finish to my existing concrete?

We can match broom finish, exposed aggregate, and most standard finishes. An exact match isn't always possible with weathered existing concrete, but we get as close as possible.
