Foundation Crack Injectionin Baltimore, MD
Crack injection is the most reliable method for permanently sealing foundation cracks from the inside — stopping water infiltration without costly exterior excavation.

Hydraulic cement and surface patching treat only the visible surface of a crack. The crack extends through the full thickness of the foundation wall — often 8–10 inches — and patching the surface leaves the entire interior of the crack open to water flow.
Crack injection uses pressure to force liquid repair material through the full depth of the crack, filling every void from face to face. The result is a fully sealed crack that stops water regardless of the hydrostatic pressure behind the wall.
Injection Methods We Use
Polyurethane Foam Injection
The preferred method for active, wet cracks. Expanding polyurethane reacts with moisture as it travels through the crack, expanding to fill the full void and creating a flexible, waterproof seal.
Epoxy Resin Injection
Used for dry, dormant cracks where structural restoration is the goal. Epoxy bonds crack faces together with tensile strength greater than the surrounding concrete.
Low-Pressure Injection Ports
Injection ports are installed at intervals along the crack length. Low pressure ensures the material fills voids without blowing out at the back of the wall.
Port Removal & Surface Seal
After the material cures, ports are removed and the crack face is patched flush with hydraulic cement for a clean finished appearance.
Leak Testing
We test the repair under simulated wet conditions before leaving to confirm the crack is fully sealed.
FAQs
Does crack injection work on block foundations?
Crack injection works best on poured concrete foundations. Block foundations have mortar joints that require different techniques — we assess the appropriate repair method for your foundation type.
Will the crack reopen after injection?
Polyurethane injection remains flexible and accommodates minor movement. For cracks caused by ongoing structural issues, we address the underlying cause to prevent recracking.
How long does the injection process take?
Most residential crack injections are completed in 2–4 hours, including port installation, injection, and surface patching.
Is interior crack injection as good as exterior excavation?
For stopping water infiltration through isolated vertical cracks, interior injection is equally effective at a fraction of the cost and disruption. Exterior is sometimes preferred when wall coatings also need replacement.
